Helldivers is a relatively new game that has lit up like an oil keg in a thunderstorm. It sets you on a journey to conquer exotic planets and alien life in the name of Super Earth to spread its “Managed Democracy” to the furthest corners of the galaxy. Now being patriotic is one thing but taking on hordes of thousands of giant charging bugs and bots is another. Needless to say, you will need all the help you can get to survive in Helldivers 2 and many players are wondering whether you can call upon your friends from other platforms as reinforcements. Thankfully Helldivers 2 has a crossplay feature and we are here to tell you all about it.
Does Helldivers 2 have crossplay?
Yes, as we said before Helldivers does have crossplay but for now it is only limited between PlayStation and PC players. Given Helldivers 2’s success, many Xbox players have been feeling left out and have asked for the game to be released on their platforms as well. But as of right now, Helldivers 2 is not available on Xbox.
How to invite friends in Helldivers 2 using crossplay
Crossplay is turned on by default in Helldivers 2 meaning you will automatically be paired up with players from both PC and PlayStation. You could turn it off if you wish by heading to the “Options menu”, and then the “Gameplay” tab.
However, if you want to invite your friends using crossplay in Helldivers 2, you will need to first add them to your in-game friends list. To add someone to your friend list follow these steps.
- Open up the Social Menu and scroll to the bottom
- Click on Friend Code and Generate Friend Code
- Send this 8-digit code to the person you want to add as Friend
- Ask them to enter it in the search bar in their Social Menu and send a Friend Request.
- Once you accept the Friend request, they will start showing up in your Friend List.
Now you can select the friend you want to crossplay with and invite them to join your party. Just make sure that both of you have turned the Crossplay option on.
Will Helldivers Come to Xbox?
Helldivers 2 has managed to singlehandedly do one thing no other game could – Unite all the gaming Platform fans. Many PS and PC fans have rallied for reinforcements from the Xbox players and God knows they could use the help of Halo veterans. Unfortunately, no official word from the top brass has been released indicating Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.
Does Helldivers 2 have cross-progression?
Helldivers 2 Does not offer a Cross-save or cross-progression feature at the moment which means if you started on PC and even built up your character, you will need to start from scratch if you switched to PS5. The Helldivers 2 Devs however shared in a tweet that they had the Cross-progression feature in the game but decided to cut it as they did not foresee such a tremendous player base. He also confirmed that Cross progression will eventually be added to Helldivers 2.
