The Ripperdoc is a main story mission in Cyberpunk 2077 available right after the Rescue mission. Once you are done rescuing Sandra Dorset from the scavs you will soon realize something has gone wrong with your optics. Our cyberpunk 2077’s The Ripperdoc walkthrough will guide you through this quest’s choices and mission objectives.
While jacking into Sandra’s bio-monitor, unjamming her GPS and allowing her platinum coverage to alert the Trauma Team, V got spiked with a neurovirus. You will get a call from Jackie and V will explain how the virus is causing headaches and that you should visit your ripperdoc Viktor Vektor ASAP.
The Ripperdoc Walkthrough
You may take a gander at your wardrobe and armory however it is unlikely that you have much in the way of choice this early in the game. Once you’re done perusing around, exit your apartment. As soon as you are outside, you’ll get a call from Regina Jones, former media and fixer of the Watson district in NC. Regina will offer you some merc-work in Watson, likely because of your recent success with the rescue mission. You’ll want to keep track of those gigs through your map and messages.
Meet With Jackie
Once you go through the gate in front of your apartment, turn left to see a drop point, you can sell almost anything at these drop points, including clothes, guns, and junk, so if you have anything you’d prefer to part ways with and make some eddies from the rescue job, best sell it off here.
Once you’re done at the drop point, go down the staircase in the opposite direction until you are called over by Coach Fred. Have a quick chat with him and you will get a chance to bash his sparring bot. Impress Coach Fred by tearing that robot a new one, and he’ll give you the chance to turn your passion for close-quarters combat into a lucrative opportunity.
If you choose the dialogue option “About these fights …” you will unlock a series of underground fights in the side job “Beat on the Brat”. These fights are optional and do not have any impact on the main story, however, each of them is thrilling and has unique adversaries with interesting stories. It is best if you level up a bit before taking on these fights. Don’t forget to check Coach Fred’s wares as he is selling melee weapons, mods, and boosters; you probably won’t have much cash or street cred at this point but won’t hurt to take note of what you might want to buy once you do.
Free Iconic Gun
Proceed left towards the elevator and just opposite you’ll see the 2nd Amendment gun store owned by Wilson. Here you can complete the side job “The Gun” by having a chat with Wilson and perusing his inventory to pick up your iconic automatic pistol “Dying Night” for no charge. You don’t have to do this right away and can get the gun later but I’d recommend picking it up right away since you need a good automatic at the start especially when the rest of your stats are low.
Iconic weapons have special attributes or damage multipliers and can also upgraded with crafting materials which you will pick up or acquire by dismantling ordinary weapons you pick off from enemies.
Talk to Jackie
With Wilson and Coach Fred sorted out, ride the elevator down and meet Jackie outside the building. Sit beside Jackie while he finishes his lunch and fills you in on the details of a new job he has landed with a renowned fixer Dexter DeShawn. He will tell you that Dexter knows T-Bug from before his two-year hiatus from Merc-work and Jackie from his street cred and wants to meet you personally while he fills you in on the details about the job.
There is a life path-specific optional dialogue option along with a few others where you can discuss how fixers operate, and how mercenaries are mostly expendable to fixers, none with any consequence to the story. Before visiting Dexter you have to visit Viktor to get the virus removed and your cyberware upgraded.
Go to the Ripperdoc
After the conversation and Jackie’s lunch, he will hand you your car keys. Summon your car by pressing V, and use the directions on the map to head to Viktor’s Clinic. The clinic is just below Misty’s Esoterica. Have a brief chat with Misty, head downstairs to Viktor’s clinic in the basement.
Vik likes V and you’ll see his affinity for you reflected in his dialogue as well as the offer to provide his services on credit. You already owe him Eddies for some work done on your cyberware and when you tell him about the new job coming up with Dexter DeShawn, he’ll recommend that you exercise caution and once again offer you cyberware upgrades on credit.
You do have the option to pay Viktor €$21000 on the spot, but it is quite unlikely that you’ll manage to scrounge that up this early in the game. Paying back Victor is added to your journal as the side job “Paid in Full” if you choose the dialogue to pay after the job.
If you go left from the operating chair, you’ll see another small enclosure where you’ll find a desk, next to the deck is a crate with a mod which you can pick up for later.
Install New Cyberware
Proceed to the operating chair and select the ballistic Coprocessor and the Kiroshi Optics from the available options. If you have managed to sell exceptionally more weapons and scrap, you might be able to afford Titanium Bones or Microgenerator. However, it is unlikely, especially at higher difficulties. After you’re done selecting cyberware, Vik will begin the procedure. You will continue talking with Vik as he installs the Coprocessor and swaps your current optics with the Kiroshis.
Once the procedure is done, Vik will prompt you to test your scanner. This will allow you to scan enemies, identify opportunities, and apply hacks. Your ballistic Coprocessor will show you how your bullets will deflect off of surfaces. Once done, leave the clinic to end the main job “The Ripperdoc” and begins the next main job “The Ride”.
